Hello from the team @ Technology Tree

We’d like to welcome two new members to the Tech Tree team! You may have already had the chance to speak to Geo on the phone or via email to assist with troubleshooting. Geo brings with him a Cert IV in IT and is certified in Microsoft Azure & Microsoft 365.

We also have Matt working with us while he completes a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Systems and Networking at Curtin University.

Both Geo and Matt have a passion for all things tech related! You can connect to Geo and Matt on Linkedin.

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to jump on to our new Service Desk portal. This is available for all clients, with managed clients having access to a few extra features. If you need help navigating the portal, please let us know. Work requests can also be emailed to servicedesk@techtree.com.au.

View the Tech Tree Service Desk Portal and login with Azure Active Directory.

Microsoft Introduces Windows 11

Last week, Microsoft announced the release of Windows 11. The free upgrade to Windows 11 will begin rolling out to eligible Windows 10 PCs and PCs that come pre-loaded with Windows 11 will start to become available for purchase. Windows 11 is designed to bring you closer to what you love.

As the PC continues to play a more central role in our lives than ever before — Windows 11 will help empower your productivity and inspire your creativity.

For any Managed Clients, we will begin to roll this out for you in due course - if you would like to be one of early adopters of Windows 11, please contact the team at servicedesk@techtree.com.au.

REMINDER!

Windows Users
It is very important to ensure your devices are being updated which should be happening automatically even whilst working from home, depending on your home internet. The latest version is Windows 10 version 21H1. If you want to know more about what is new in this version click here.

Patch Tuesday: Microsoft regularly releases software patches usually every second Tuesday of every month for its software products. Please make sure you apply and restart you computer this week to have these updates applied to your device. For those of you who we managed under a service agreement we will be monitoring and will be in touch if they’re not being applied.

How to update: Allow yourself at least 10 – 15 minutes to fully shutdown and restart your system. This ensures patches are applied, this can also address (and solve) some problems you may be having with your system. You can also manually check by following steps that can be found here.
